Programme 02

RRRS

Rugby Ready Readiness Scale

Are you ready to test your fitness? You may be ready to play rugby, or you may be ready to excel at rugby. Who knows — let's give it a try. There's no requirement to play the sport, but if you're ready and willing, we'll connect you with a local club.

The scale

Four bands. Nobody fails.

R1

Ready to move

You can walk 20 minutes without thinking about it. That's the entry line — no ball, no contact, no gym.

R2

Ready to train

Intervals, bodyweight strength, and mobility hold up. You could join a social session tomorrow.

R3

Ready to play

Repeat sprints, contact tolerance and recovery are there. We'll introduce you to a local club.

R4

Ready to excel

Now it's about output, not readiness. We connect you with coaches who work at that level.

The test

Six checks. Under thirty minutes. No equipment.

01

Eight-minute walk-run

Distance covered, honest effort, no watch anxiety.

02

Eight-count push tempo

Controlled reps to fatigue — form ends the set.

03

Single-leg balance

Eight seconds each side, eyes closed. Ankles talk.

04

Sit-to-stand in 60s

Legs, hips and honesty about the couch.

05

Recovery pulse

Heart rate drop after two minutes of rest.

06

Next-day check

How you feel 24 hours later. The real result.

Ready and willing? We'll find you a club.

We work with local rugby teams and our partner network to place you in a side that matches your band — social, competitive, or somewhere in between.
